Visitation: Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, with family present from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
Service: Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, at Canton United Methodist Church.
Sioux Falls. Florence Hoeppner, 90, formerly of Canton, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Sanford USD Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, at Canton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, with family present from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
Florence was born April 20, 1926 at Barron, WI, to Charles and Meta (Brunke) Schroeder. She attended school in Manitowoc, WI, graduating in 1945. She worked as a waitress prior to her marriage.
Florence was united in marriage to Ervin L Hoeppner August 30, 1945 in Luverne, MN. She lived in Rock Rapids, IA and Canton, SD, before moving to Sioux Falls in 1998. She was employed in a sewing factory in Alcester and babysat for a number of years. She was an active member of Canton United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school, made mission bags, and was a member of the church circle. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, crosses and doilies. She also liked playing cards with family, traveling, and spending time with family. Florence will be remembered for her excellent potato salad. Her husband died in 1992.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Charles (Aurelia), Marysville, WA, Charlotte (Harvey) Andersen, Canton, Carol Lange, Sioux Falls, SD, Clara Bertsch, Sioux Falls, SD, Curtis (Cynthia), Grand Prairie, TX, Cynthia (LeRoy) Johnson, Lakeview, OR, Cathy (Donald) Domel, Chester, SD, Cheri (Lyle) Krejci, Sioux Falls, SD, Clyde (Susan), Sioux Falls, SD, and Candace (Keith) Head, Great Falls, MT; 28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 children, Crystal and Connie, 3 grandchildren, Paul, Donald, and Douglas, her sister, Dorothy Kauffman, and 3 brothers, Arnold, George, and Ernest.
