Michelle Marie Lasley was born on October 7, 1974 to Randy and Pat (Spieker) Halverson in Ivanhoe, MN.  She moved to the Canton area at the age of 6 years, where she lived for the rest of her life.  She graduated from Canton High School in 1993.  She was a four year member of All-State Band, was an honor student, and was National Champion with a project she did with two close friends for National History Day.  She graduated from Western Iowa Tech and received her RN license in 2001.  She was employed by Sanford USD Medical Center for several years in the Intensive Care Nursery until illness forced her to resign. She missed the babies.
On August 27, 1994, she married Elden Lasley at St. Dominic Church in Canton. They lived the majority of their married life in Canton.  Michelle was active in PATCHES, was a Canton Booster Club Board member and spent many hours the last four years helping with Junior Football equipment distribution and tracking.  She was a strong, ambitious woman who was always there for her family.  She attended many sports and music events in support of her children and was a big C-Hawk fan. She especially enjoyed football and wrestling. She also enjoyed sewing, making blankets and craft items.
Michelle went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Sunday, December 11, 2011 due to medical complications as she waited for a liver transplant.  Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Elden and their four children Allison, Joshua, Elizabeth and Benjamin, her parents Randy and Pat Halverson, three brothers and their families, Dennis (Audrey), Scott and John Halverson; Robert (Jolene), Tyler, Mackenzie, Emma, Alivia, Lane, Callianna, and Finley Halverson; and James (Jessica), Lyman and Luke Halverson, mother-in-law Sharon Lasley, sister-in-law and family Christi (Dan), Jessica Koistinen, grandmothers Mary Ann Spieker and Norma Groenewold, several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
